General Departmental Competitive Examination: RBE No.72/2024 – Minimum Service Condition

Sub: General Department Competitive Examination for filling up of 25% to 50% of Direct Recruitment Quota Vacancies in Group ‘C’ Categories.

One of the Railway Recruitment Cell has sought clarification on whether provision regarding minimum service period may be implemented for the upcoming recruitment of GDCE Examination.

In Board’s letter of even number dated 06.10.2023 (RBE No.112/2023) (copy enclosed) it was clarified that the issue of prescribing any minimum residency period to become eligible for future GDCE is still under deliberation in Board’s office. It was further also indicated that while regular employees are eligible, no minimum service condition is presently prescribed for appearing in this round of GDCE examination.

It is advised that the issue is still under deliberation in the Railway Board. Zonal Railways will be advised of any change in the policy provisions.
