Mutual Transfer: Clarification

Sub: Policy regarding mutual transfer within the same Division – Clarification reg.

Ref:  Western Railway’s letter No.WR/HQ/ESTT(PPOL)97/2020 (96785), dated 01.08.2022.

The clarification issued to Western Railway vide Boards letter of even number dated 21.10.2020 has been considered in the light of issue raised in Western Railway’s’ letter referred to above.         

Intra-divisional mutual transfer is not envisaged in the scope of the instructions of mutual transfer. Transfer within the same seniority unit is in the competence of Divisional/ Cadre controlling authorities and thus instructions of mutual transfer are not applicable.
