D.O. No.HON/NR/VL, dated 12.10.1988

Sub: Honorarium to Visiting Lecturers, dignitaries at RSCBRC.

Ref: Board’s letter No.E(G) 81 H0I-1, dated 04.11.1985.

My dear Vinod,

Under Board’s letter cited above, copy enclosed for ready reference, a special dispensation was given in respect of eminent Visiting Lecturers from IIMs, NITIE etc. for courses conducted for Administrative Officers and above, that the Visiting Lecturers may be paid honorarium at the rate of Rs.150 per session subject to a maximum of Rs.500 per day. There is no weekly ceiling. In other words, if we run a Special Capsule course  with faculty from IIMS etc., in theory we could pay an honorarium of Rs.500 per day i.e., Rs.2500 for a 5-day course. This would enable us to run special capsule courses on new subjects with the help of eminent outside faculty.

In my opinion, the above instructions issued in 1985 continue to be operative. However, these instructions have not been incorporated in your general letter regarding honorarium payable to Visiting Lecturers issued in Board’s letter No.E(G) 84 HOI-17, dated 01.06.1988. Copy enclosed for ready reference. In the meanwhile, as already advised in this office letter of even number dated 27.06.1988, copy enclosed for ready reference, eminent Visiting Lecturers are already being paid honorarium in accordance with the Board’s earlier letter, dated 04.11.1985 cited above.

I shall be grateful if you will kindly confirm that Board’s instructions issued in their letter dated 04.11.1985 cited above continue to be operative.

Yours sincerely,

(B.V. RAMARAO)
