Sub:   Enquiry-cum-Reservation Clerks on Railways – Decentralization of cadre.

1.     Attention is invited to Board’s letter No.E(NG)II/76/CD/40, dated 28.02.1985 (RBE No.62/1985) in connection with decentralisation of the cadre of Enquiry-cum-Reservation Clerks in grade Rs.330-560 and Rs.425-640.

2.     In the scales notified in September, 1986 on the basis of the recommendations of the Fourth Pay Commission, the grades of Rs.425-640 and Rs.455-700 have been merged into a single replacement scale of Rs.1400-2300 (RP). A question has been raised whether Board’s letter dated 28.02.1985 (RBE No.62/1985) cited above will apply also to posts previously in scale Rs.455-700.

3.     Board wish to clarify that the provisions of the aforesaid letter dated 28.02.1985 (RBE No.62/1985) will apply to posts in scale Rs.1200-2040 (RP) and Rs.1400-2300 (RP) in the revised scales.
