Sub:  Rates of daily allowance for journeys on duty in various countries. 

Ref:  Board’s letter No.F(E)II/96/AL-1/1, dated 04.02.1997 (RBE No.26/1997).

The slabs of basic pay for purpose of determining the admissibility of daily allowance of different grades as fixed by Ministry of External Affairs vide order No.Q/FD/695/1/90, dated 11.11.1996 have been revised by that Ministry vide order No.Q/FD/695/1/98, dated 15.09.1998 on the basis of New Pay Scales. A copy of the same is sent herewith for information and guidance. The order contained therein will apply mutatis mutandis to Railway officers and staff deputed abroad.

CORRIGENDUM

Sub: Daily Allowance Rates.

1. In partial modification of this Ministry’s Order No.Q/FD/695/1/90, dated 11.11.1996 on the subject mentioned above, sanction of the President is hereby accorded to the amending of the aforesaid order to the extent detailed below. 

2. Para 5 of the cited order may be substituted by the following paragraph.

Quote:

5.   Admissibility of Daily Allowance for various categories of officers as defined in SR 17 shall be as follows:

	Officers Drawing Pay	DA Admissible
(a)	of Rs.8500 p.m. and above in the new pay scales	Full rates as prescribed in the Annexure
(b)	of Rs.3300 p.m. and above and less than Rs.8500	75% of the prescribed rates
(c)	below Rs.3300 p.m.	33% of the prescribed rates

Unquote:

3. All others terms and conditions laid down in the cited Order may be retained.      

4.    This issues with the concurrence of the Ministry of Finance vide their Dy. No.595/E.IV/98-E.IV, dated 31.08.1998 and this Ministry’s Integrated Finance vide their Dy. No.1052/AS(FA)/98, dated 31.08.1998.
