Appointment on Compassionate Grounds: RBE No.275/1999 – Free Travel Facility

Sub: Free travelling facility for candidates called for written test/ viva-voce for appointment on compassionate grounds.

1. Arising out of discussions in the PNM with NFIR, it has been decided by the Board that a SL/ II Class Special Pass may be granted to the wards of Railway employees called for appearing in the test/ interview, for the first time, for adjudging their suitability for appointment on compassionate grounds, from the place of residence to the nearest station of the place, where test/ interview is held, and back.

2. No such Pass shall be issued if the candidate fails in the test/ interview in the first attempt and is called again to appear.

3. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Board’s office.

Advanced Correction Slip No.16

Add the following as (c) of item 22 of Schedule VII (Special Pass) of the Railway Servants (Pass) Rules, 1986 (Second Edition, 1993)

“(c) SL/ II Class Pass from the place of residence to the nearest station where the interview/ test is held, and back, to candidates called for interview/ test for first time, for compassionate appointment, in death cases only.”
