Sub: Retrospective conversion of one kind of leave into another kind – Adding proviso after sub-rule (1) of Rule 505 – of R-I.

1. In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, the President is pleased to direct that Rule 505 of the Indian Railway Establishment Code, Volume -I (1985 Edition) may be amended as in the Advance Correction Slip No. 57 enclosed.

2. These orders shall come into force w.e.f. the date of issue.

Rule 505 of R-I

In Rule 505 of the Indian Railway Establishment Code, Volume-I (1985 Edition), after sub-rule (1), the following proviso shall be added namely:-

“Provided that no such request shall be considered unless received by such authority, or any other authority designated in this behalf, within a period of 30 days of the concerned Railway servant joining duty on the expiry of the relevant spell of leave availed of by him.”
