Senior Clerks: RBE No.19/1986 – Filling up of 33-1/3% Quota Vacancies
No.E(NG)I-84-PM1/8, dated 29.01.1986
Sub: Filling up the post of Senior Clerks in scale Rs.330-560 – Personnel and other Departments.
1. In terms of this Department’s letter No.PCIII/81/UPG/7, dated 18.06.1981 read with their letter of same number dated 31.07.1981, 13-1/3% of the vacancies in grade of Senior Clerks in scale Rs.330-560 are required to be filled from amongst the graduate clerks already serving in the lower grades by a competitive examination after allowing them the age relaxation already in force.
2. The question regarding continuance or otherwise of the condition regarding age in respect of serving graduate clerks competing for the post of Senior Clerks in scale Rs.330-560, against the 13-1/3% quota, has been under consideration of this Department for some time. The Department of Railways have since decided that the condition regarding age should be removed in respect of future vacancies to be filled against the quota of 13-1/3% laid down in their letter dated 18.06.1981 and 31.07.1981 referred to above. In other words, all eligible departmental candidates (i.e. serving graduate clerks) may be allowed to appear in the competitive examination to be held to fill up the vacancies of Senior Clerks against 13-1/3% quota; without any age-restriction.
