RBE No.159/2008: House Rent Allowance

Sub: Grant of House Rent Allowance to Railway employees posted to new Zones/ new Divisions – Regarding.

1. The question of extending the currency of the sanction contained in this office letter of even number dated 09.03.2004 (RBE No. 48/2004) as extended vide letter of even number dated 09.08.2005 (RBE No. 129/2005), 09.08.2006 (RBE No. 106/2006) and 12.12.2007 (RBE No. 159/2007) has been considered by the Board subsequent to issue of letters No.E(G)2008 QR1-1, dated 02.05.2008 (RBE No. 63/2008) and 05.09.2008 (RBE No. 104/2008) and it has been decided to extend currency of the instructions contained in letter dated 09.03.2004 (RBE No. 48/2004) ibid upto the dates specified against each new Zone, as under:-

East Central Railway                          : 31^st August, 2009

North Western Railway                       : 31^st March, 2008

South Western Railway                      : 31^st March, 2008

West Central Railway                         : 31^st March, 2008

2.     This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
