RBE No. 43/2016: Air Travel – Permission to Expenditure Observer Deputed by Election Commission

Sub: Permission to travel by air to officer deputed as Expenditure Observer by Election Commission.

1. A reference has been received from Election Commission of India regarding permission of air travel to officers deputed as Expenditure Observer in connection with election duty.
2. The issue has been examined and it has been decided by Board that all officers who are deputed as Expenditure Observer by Election Commission of India may be permitted to travel by air in economic class whenever required for Election purposes in connection with their duties as Expenditure Observers, in relaxation of austerity instructions and Railway rules governing entitlement for air travel.
3. These orders will take effect from 26.04.2016.
