RBE No.27/2006: Railway accommodation – Retention of

Sub: Retention of Railway accommodation by Railway Audit staff in the event of transfer from one place to another necessitating change of accommodation.

The instructions governing retention of Railway accommodation by Railway Audit staff in the event of transfer from one place to another necessitating change of  residence are contained in para 1.5 of Annexure to Board’s letter No.E(G)85 QR1-9, dated 15.01.1990 (RBE No. 08/1990). The said instructions provide for retention of accommodation at the previous place of posting for a limited period of 2 (two) months. Queries have been received from some quarters regarding the period of retention to be permitted to Railway Audit staff in the event of their transfer from one place to another. In this connection it is once again clarified and reiterated that the provision contained in Railway Board’s instruction No.E(G)85 QR1-9, dated 15.01.1990 (RBE No. 08/1990) would govern retention of accommodation in the case of transfer of Railway Audit staff from one place to another.

This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.

This disposes of N.E.Rly’s letter No.Admn/575/0-A Pt. IV, dated -.12.2005.
