RBE No. 191/1992: Welfare Inspector – Qualification for
No.E(NG)I-86/PM4/9, dated 18.11.1992
Sub: Filling up the post of Welfare Inspector in the scale Rs.425-640/ 1400-2300 – Qualifications for.
1. In terms of Board’s letter No.E(NG)I-65/PM1/37, dated 24.05.1966 read with their letters of even number dated 18.06.1987 (RBE No. 155/1987) and 08.09.1987 (RBE No. 226/1987) staff in possession of any of the following qualifications are eligible for volunteering for selection as Assistant Welfare Inspector in grade Rs.1400-2300 (RPS), irrespective of grade or length of service or other educational qualifications:
(i) Diploma in Labour Welfare/ Social Welfare.
(ii) Diploma in Labour Laws; and
(iii) LLB with paper(s) in Labour Laws.
2. The question of updating the qualifications as educated above has been under consideration of the Ministry of Railways for sometimes past. It has now been decided that Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management awarded by an institution recognized by the Govt. of India may also be added to the list of qualifications as mentioned above.
