Tribal Area Allowance: RBE No.06/1988 – Recommendation of 4th CPC

Sub: Recommendations of the Fourth Pay Commission – Decisions relating to the grant of Tribal Area Allowance to the Railway employees working in the Tribal Areas of Tripura.

1. Consequent upon the decisions taken by the Government on the recommendations of the IV Pay Commission in regard to the grant of Tribal Area Allowance to Central Government employees working in these areas where similar allowance has been sanctioned by the State Government to their employees, the President is pleased to decide in consultation with the Staff Side of the National Council (JCM) that the Tribal Area Allowance shall be admissible to Railway employees, if any, posted in the Revenue Villages falling under Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council/ Sub-Plan Areas in Tripura mentioned in the Annexure to this letter at the same rates and conditions laid down in this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 30.07.1987 (RBE No.199/1987).

2. These orders shall take effect from 01.03.1987 and would be valid for a period of three years unless modified or withdrawn earlier.
