Sub: Expenditure on sports activities.
1. As the Railways are aware, in terms of the extant orders, participation of railway sports persons in connection with the following activities is treated as duty, for which employees are entitled to grant of TA/DA as on tour:

| 4 | Period of absence of Managers/ Assistant Managers and Coaches, when accompanying a team for participation in National Championships as under: (a) Coaches – 15 days prior to the commencement of National Championships concerned for imparting training to Railway Sportsmen in a Coaching camp when organised. (b) Managers or Asstt. Managers – 3 days prior to the commencement of or during National Cham-pionship for one of the officials. 2. With a view to assessing the expenditure being incurred on account of grant of TA/DA to Railway employees on sports account, as referred to above, Board desired that the actual expenditure incurred in respect of each of the above sports activities during the financial year should be intimated by the Railways/ Production Units by the 31st May of the following financial year, in the proforma enclosed. For this purpose, it will facilitate, if the various pay Bill Units are instructed to keep corresponding record in the Manuscript Register and furnish a monthly statement to the Welfare Branch of the Headquarters Office, where it should be consolidated to ensure submission of the Annual Statement to the Board, by the due date.
