Special Pay: RBE No.106/2000 – Doctors Performing Anesthesia

Sub: Grant of Special Pay to Doctors performing Aneasthesia work.

Ref: This Ministry’s letter No.E(P&A)I-96/SP-1/MH-1, dated 11.03.1997 and No.E(P&A)I-98/SP-I/Gen. 1, dated 09.10.1998 (RBE No.233/1998).

1.     Sanction of the President is hereby accorded to the grant of Special Pay to the Doctors who are entrusted with the performance of anesthesia work, in addition to their normal duties, last extended upto 20.12.1998 vide this Ministry’s letter No.E(P&A)I-96/SP-1/MH-1, dated 11.03.1997, being further extended for a period of three years w.e.f. 01.08.1997 to 01.08.2000 or till a specialists cadre for the anesthesia work is formed whichever is earlier.

2.     Pursuant to the recommendations of the Fifth Central Pay Commission, Special Pay, henceforth will be termed as ‘Special Allowance’, the President is also pleased to decide that pending a detailed review, the Special Pay already admissible @ Rs.100 to the aforesaid category of doctors would stand revised to Rs.200 p.m.

3.     This Special Allowance will have no additive value for any purpose whatsoever.

4.     This issues with the concurrence for Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
