Shipping Inspector: RBE No.16/1988 – Provision of

Sub: Recommendations of the IVth Central Pay Commission – Para 10.432 regarding provision of the post of Shipping Inspector in scale Rs.2000-3200.

1. The IV Central Pay Commission in para 10.432 of their Report have recommended that in order to improve the promotion prospects of the Shipping Inspectors, a few posts may be provided in scale Rs.2000-3200.

2. The above recommendation of the Commission has been accepted and accordingly it has been decided to upgrade one post of Shipping Inspector in scale Rs.1600-2660 to Rs.2000-3200. This upgraded post in scale Rs.2000-3200 will form part of the sanctioned percentage in the cadre for posts in scale Rs.1600-2660.

3. The staff selected and posted against the higher grade post as a result of the above restructuring will have his pay fixed under Rule 2018(B)(FR22C) R.II with effect from the date of actual promotion.

4. This has the sanction of the President.

5. This  disposes of CPO/CLW’s  D.O. letter No.GMA/PC-IV/1 Pt.1, dated 10.12.1987.
