Settlement Passes: RBE No.215/1985 – Six Months before Retirement
No.E(W) 81 PS-5/91, dated 25.07.1985
Sub: Grant of settlement passes six months before the date of retirement of the employees.
In terms of Ministry of Railway’s letter No.E(W) 80 PS 5-1/9, dated 25.03.1981, settlement passes for the transport of Kit and Motor car can be issued to the Railway employees which could be used by them before the actual date of retirement by one month, if otherwise admissible to them under the normal rules. On a representation made by S.E. Railway and other individuals, Ministry of Railways have carefully considered the matter of relaxing this limit of one months to six month before the actual date of retirement of the employees and they have decided that the settlement passes for Kit and Motor Car, etc., may be issued to the employees so that they can use the same six months before the date of their retirement. However, such Kit Passes will continue to be issued within one year of the retirement of the employees with relaxation up to 2 years by General Managers as per the extant orders on the subject. For any relaxation beyond this period i.e. six months before the actual date of retirement or 2 years after the date of retirement the matter may be referred to the Ministry of Railways for their consideration.
