Recruitment: RBE No.220/1985 – Through Railway Recruitment Boards
No.E(NG)II/85/RRB/88, dated 26.07.1985
Sub: Recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts through Railway Recruitment Boards.
As Railway Administrations are aware, there are cases where for one reason or the other, panels against indents placed on Railway Recruitment Boards have been delayed. The vacancies depicted in the indent against, each category would have been based on the position obtaining at the time the indents were sent to the Railway Recruitment Boards. Where panels are delayed, the developments in the intervening period would render it necessary for the number to be obtained through the Railway Recruitment Board to be varied materially. Embarrassing situation can arise if names are recommended by the RRB but due to the changed position the Railway Administration does not find it possible to offer appointment to the selected candidates.
To obviate such situations, the Ministry of Railways desire that wherever panels are not received in time, the Railway Administration should review the position and if found necessary adjust the indent already placed/ to be placed on the RRB suitably. It would be advisable if the basis on which the revised number is worked out is placed on record for future reference and for dealing with representations, if any, in the matter.
