Sub: Appointment against sports quota – Revision of minimum educational qualification for direct recruitment for the post of Skilled Artisan.
Ref: Board’s letter No.E(NG)99/RR-I/66, dated 28.01.2000 (RBE No. 17/2000)

Attention is invited to Board’s letter No.E(NG)99/RR-I/66, dated 28.01.2000 (RBE No. 17/2000) laying down the minimum educational qualification for direct recruitment to the post of Skilled Artisan in Grade Pay Rs.1900 (6th CPC) as “Course Completed Act Apprenticeship/ ITI pass in relevant trade”.
The matter has been reviewed by the Board and it has been decided that henceforth for appointment against sports quota in Technician-III, the minimum educational qualification should be prescribed as 10th pass. However, the training period for such sports quota appointees will be 3 (Three) years unless they pass ITI qualification in the relevant trade, in which case it will be 6 months.
