RBE No. 58/2008: Reimbursement of Membership Fee

Sub: Recommendation No.67 of the Railway Accident Enquiry Committee, 1978 (Sikri Committee) – 90% reimbursement of membership fee in respect of recognized professional Institutions/ Societies.
A list of Institutions/ Societies for which 90% reimbursement of membership/ subscription fees is permitted, was circulated vide Board’s letter No.E(G)83 FEI-4, dated 29.04.1988 (RBE No. 82/1988). At Sl. No.6 of the list of International Institutions (Annexure-B) of the said letter, appears the name of ‘The Institution of Electrical Engineers’, Savoy Place, London. From 31.03.2006, the name of the ‘Institution of Electrical Engineers’ has changed to ‘The Institution of Engineering & Technology,’ while all the contact details, remain the same.
Accordingly, it has been decided that the name of the institution at Sl. No.6 of the list of International Institutions (Annexure-B) of the letter No.E(G)83 FEI-4, dated 29.04.1988 (RBE No. 82/1988) may be read as ‘The Institution of Engineering & Technology,’ Savoy Place, London, WC 2R OLB, Tele No.(01) 240 1871. The benefit of 90% reimbursement of membership/ subscription fees is permitted to the said ‘The Institution of Engineering & Technology,’ from 31.03.2006 onwards.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
