RBE No. 54/2006: Staff Cars – List of Approved Models

Sub: List of approved models to be used as staff cars.

The following models of vehicles in the air conditioned and non-air-condition category have been approved by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance to be used as staff cars by the entitled officers:-

(a) Air-condition category:- Maruti Esteem VX(MPI), Tata Indigo (GLX).

(b) Non-air-conditioned category:-

(i) Premier Padmini, (ii) Maruti 800, (iii) Maruti vans (with high/ flat roofs), (iv) Maruti Gypsy, (v) Premier NE 118, (vi) Ambassador ISZ, 1800, (vii) Maruti WagonR Std, (viii) Maruti Zen Std, (ix) Maruti Alto Std, (x) Ambassador Classic 2.0 DSZ, (xi) Indica DL V2 (BS II), (xii) Indica LI V2 (BS II), (xiii) Tata Indigo Diesel, (xiv) Maruti Esteem Std, and (xv) Tata Indigo GL (Petrol).
It may please be noted that in terms of the extent instructions, only the Ministers, Members of the Railway Board, General Managers, Additional Members of Railway Board and other officers in equivalent or higher grade, viz. DG/ RHS, DG/GPF, DG/RDSO, DG/Railway Staff College and Secretary, Railway Board are entitle for use thereof air condition staff car.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
