Sub: Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968 – Diglot Edition, April, 1987 – Errata to.

By now, your administrations must have received from the Southern Railway Printing Press copies of the Diglot Edition (April, 1987) of the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968, corrected up to 1st April, 1987. On going through the publication, certain printing errors and omissions have been noticed. Corrections to the book may please be carried out as per the errata enclosed herewith. All concerned may please be informed of the corrections. 

ERRATA

1. Page 3, item (11) of list of Notifications – Please read the letter No.E(D&A)71 RG6-60 instead of E(D&A)71 RG6-40.

2. Page 3, item (13) of list of Notifications – Please read date as 7th July, 1978 instead of 9th July, 1978.

3. Page 3, item (27) of list of Notifications – Please read letter No.E(D&A)85 RG6-16 as instead of No.E(D&A)85 RG6-15.

4. Page 5, Rule 2(1)(a)(iv) – The qualification ‘whichever authority is the highest authority’ should be read separately as applying to all the sub-clauses and not as part of sub-clause (iv).

5. Page 7, Rule 2(1)(d) – The word ‘reviewing’ appearing in the 3rd line may be read as ‘revising’.

6. Page 11, Rule 5(3) – The word ‘review’ appearing in third line may be read as ‘revision’.

7. Page 17 – Explanation (vi) under Rule 6 – the word ‘servants’ appearing in the last line but one may be read as ‘servant’.

8. Page 17 – Rule 7(3) – The word ‘cases’ appearing in the first line may be read as ‘case’.

9. Page 23 – Rule 9(9)(c) – The word ‘presiding’ appearing in the last line but one may be read as ‘Presenting’.

10. Page 25 – Rule 9(10)(vi) – The word ‘to’ may be deleted.

11. Page 33 – Rule 9(25) – In the Explanation, delete the word ‘of’ appearing at end of second line.

12. Page 41 – Rule 13 – After the existing sub-rule (2)(ii), a semi colon may be added followed by ‘and’ and the following may be read as sub-clause (iii) thereof – ‘whether the procedure laid down in rule 9 and rule 10 or rule 11 shall be followed in the preceding’.

13. Page 47 – In Rule 18(v)(b), the word ‘to’ occurring between the words ‘grade’ and ‘post’ may be substituted by ‘or’.

14. Page 47 – In Rule 18(f) the word ‘or’ occurring at the end of clause (ii) may be deleted.

15. Page 49 – In Rule 19(1), the word ‘reviewing’ and ‘review’ may be substituted by ‘revising’ and ‘revision’.

16. Page 55 – In the proviso (ii) to Rule 22(2), the word ‘and’ occurring in the last line may be deleted.

17. Page 61 – In Rule 25(1), in clause (v), the word control may be followed by a hyphen and the words ‘may at any time ……… such consultation is necessary’ may be read separately as applicable to all five causes of Rule 25(1).

18. Page 61 – In note (1) under proviso (ii) word ‘provision’ may be read as ‘proviso’.

19. Page 69 – Rule 30 – the word ‘preferred’ occurring in the third line may be read as ‘referred’.

20. Page 88 – Item (3) Col. (3) of Schedule relating to Railway Staff College, Vadodara, read ‘Institute’ instead of ‘garden’.

21. Page 90 – Schedule I, against Col. (4) of item (2) of the Schedule relating to Railway Rates Tribunal, the word ‘clauses (ii) to (iv)’ may be read as ‘clauses (i) to (iv)’.

22. Page 91 – In the heading for Schedule II, the words ‘Senior Supervisors’ may be interpolated after ‘Railway Officers’.

23. Page 93 – The word ‘appellate’ appearing in Note (2) below Scheduled II may be read as ‘appointing’.

24. Schedule III as appearing in pp. 94 & 95 may be dated. The current Schedule III is given at pp 96 & 97.
