RBE No. 46/2008: Conveyance Allowance – To Medical Officers

Sub: Grant of conveyance allowance to medical officers.

1.     One of the Railways has raised a doubt whether Medical Officers provided with official vehicle are eligible for conveyance allowance or not.

2.     The matter has been examined in Board’s office and it is clarified that Medical Officers being provided with official vehicles/ staff cars would not be eligible for monthly Conveyance Allowance. However, if such Medical Officers, who perform 20 domiciliary visits beyond office hours, certify that official vehicle was not provided, Conveyance Allowance may be allowed.
