RBE No. 43/2009: Additional Allowance – Loco Pilots

Sub: reckoning of Additional Allowance for the purpose of computation of retirement benefits clarification thereof.

1. One of the Zonal Railways have sought clarification regarding reckoning of the Additional Allowance granted to Loco Pilot (Mail), Loco Pilot (Passenger) and Mail Guard for the purpose of computation of their retirement benefits.
2. The matter has been examined in detail by the Board and it is advised that the Additional Allowance granted to Loco Pilot (Mail), Loco Pilot (Passenger) and Mail Guard vide this Ministry’s letter No.PC-VI/2008/I/RSRP/I, dated 11.09.2008 (RBE No.108/2008) is not to be taken into account for the purpose of computation of their retirement benefits.
