RBE No.43/2003: Transfer – Retirement benefits

Sub: Permanent transfer of railway servants to government companies Corporation grant of retirement benefits.
Ref: Board’s letter of even number dated 07.04.1985 (RBE No.27/1995), 25.06.1997 (RBE No.93/1997).

The matter regarding grant of retirement benefits to permanent Railway servant governed by CPF/ SRPF Scheme and permanently absorbed in Public Sector Undertakings etc, has been examined in consultation with DOP&PW who have clarified that such employees permanently absorbed in Public Sector Undertakings etc, either prior to 21.09.1967 or on or after 21.09.1967 are not covered by the instructions contained in Board’s letter of even number dated 07.04.1995 (RBE No.27/1995). Accordingly, any Railway servant, who was not a pension optee at the time of his permanent absorption in Public Sector Undertakings etc, would not be covered under the provisions of the order dated 07.04.1995. The corrigendum issued vide Board’s letter of even number dated 25.06.1997 may therefore be treated as withdrawn.
