RBE No. 40/2019: Recruitment – SSE – Discontinuance of Direct Recruitment – Clarification

Sub: Provisional discontinuation of Direct Recruitment to the posts of Senior Section Engineers (SSEs).
Ref: Railway Board’s letter No.E(NG)II/2018/RR-1/31, dated 25.10.2018 issued under RBE No. 166/2018.

1. Railways have sought clarification on whether intake through compassionate ground appointment in Senior Section Engineers (SSEs) would also be kept in abeyance owing to provisional discontinuation of Direct Recruitment to the post of SSEs.
2. In this regard it is clarified that the existing temporary ban on filling on direct recruitment quota posts of SSE is only with reference to direct recruitment from open market. This temporary ban on Direct Recruitment intake of SSEs should not, therefore, apply to compassionate ground appointment in Senior Section Engineers (SSEs).
