Sub: Improvement in service conditions of faculty members in training institutions – Sumptuary allowance.
In partial modification of para 3 of Board’s letter No.85/E(GR)/II 18/84, dated 15.09.1986, it has been decided to raise the amount of “Sumptuary allowance from Rs.250 per month to Rs.500 per month with effect from 01.10.1999 as the duties of the Principal/ Director require meeting with and entertaining small group of student/ faculty/ visiting faculty etc.”
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Director of the Ministry of Railways.
