RBE No. 35/1985: RPF/RPSF – Calculation of Vacancies – Upgraded Posts

No.PCIII/85/UPG/1, dated 25.01.1985

Sub: Calculation of vacancies for promotion against upgraded post in Group C & D cadres of RPF/RPSF.

It has come to notice that different Railways have been following different methods in calculating the number of staff to be promoted against the posts upgraded in terms of Board’s letter No.PCIII/84/UPG/1, dated 06.02.1984. It is clarified that the number of staff to be actually promoted under up-gradation orders should be equal to the number of upgraded posts indicated in the sanction letter refer to above. For example on the Central Railway 1502 posts of Rakshaks and 706 posts of Senior Rakshaks have been upgraded to that of Senior Rakshak and Head Rakshak respectively and therefore the same number of Rakshaks and Senior Rakshaks should be promoted to the next higher scale. The retrospective benefit will be restricted to the senior most persons selected equal to the number of posts upgraded in the sanction letter referred to above.
