RBE No. 32/2019: Sports – Centre of Excellence (CoE) Scheme

Sub: Sparing of talented players under Railway’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) Scheme.
Ref: Board’s letter of even number dated 29.10.2015 (RBE No. 139/2015) and 31.10.2016 (RBE No. 129/2016).

Kindly refer to Board’s letter of even number dated 29.10.2015 and 31.10.2016 on the subject mentioned above.
The matter has been reviewed in consultation with Finance Directorate. It has been decided that:-

(i) 330 days COE scheme which was earlier valid up to 28.10.2018 may be continued from 29.10.2018.
(ii) Doubles players (in Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis, etc.) may be treated at par with singles players for the purpose of granting them 330 days’ SCL under the Centre of Excellence Scheme.
(iii) In case of injury sustained during the 330 days SCL period, an advice of doctor the rehabilitation will continue under 330 days SCL Scheme. However, this will be dealt with on case to case basis by RSPB.
(iv) 330 days SCL for team games for participation in Senior National Championship is discontinued. It will however, be allowed for medalist of National Championships & participants of recognized International Championships.
(v) Number of camps per year shall be increased for team games. It will be tried as far as possible to have continuous camps prior to Nationals, duly interspersed with tournaments to give necessary exposures.

These instructions are issued with the approval of Board (MS) and concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways (Railway Board).
