RBE No. 32/1985: Pension – Reckoning of Additional/ Presumptive Pay

Sub: Reckoning of additional/ presumptive pay in terms of Rule 2038 (FR-49) R-II for pension and post retirement benefits (Dual Charge Allowance) – reg.

1. With reference to certain doubts expressed in the matter, the Ministry of Railway desire to clarify that additional/ presumptive pay payable in respect of combination of appointments, vide provisions contained in Rule 2038 (FR-49) R-II, is to be reckoned as ‘pay’ as defined in Rule 2003(21)(a)(iii) R-II and will therefore, count for the purpose of pension and other post retirement benefits.
2. This issues after consultation with the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure and with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
