RBE No. 30/2006: Railway Safety Review Committee

Sub: Report of the Railway Safety Review Committee (Part-I) 1998 – Competency based training – Recommendation No. 5.10

1. The Railway Safety Review Committee vide Recommendation No.5.10 have recommended as under:

Competency based training and certification should be introduced, in stages, in work centers such as TXR Depots, Sick Lines, ROH Depots, Workshops, Flash Butt Welding Plants, etc. only those possessing certificates of competency should be allowed to work on the identified safety critical assemblies

The above recommendation has been accepted by Railway Board.

2. In this context, the Railway Administration are directed that some of the categories have been identified who should be issued competency certificate before they are allowed to work. The details of such categories, the agency for issue of the competency certificate, periodicity and duration of training enclosed.
