RBE No. 194/2008: Encashment of LAP

Sub:  Sixth Central Pay Commission – Recommendation relating to encashment of LAP – Acceptance of.

With reference to Board’s letter of even number dated 29.10.2008 (RBE No. 161/2008), one of the Railways has raised an issue as to whether encashment of LAP upto 10 days  can be sanctioned to a Railway employee at the time of availing Privilege Ticket Orders (PTOs) rather than Privilege Passes. In this regard, it is clarified that the term ‘passes’ for the purpose of leave encashment would include Privilege Passes as well as Privilege Ticket Orders.

This disposes of East Coast Railway’s letter No. ECor/Pers/Gaz/Bill/EL/US, dated 12.11.2008.
