The demands of staff side of JCM for revision in eligibility limits for grant of advance for purchase of Moped and Personal Computer, have been considered by the Government and it has been decided to revise the norms for purchase of Moped and Computer advance. Necessary Advance Correction Slip No. 189 to paras 1105 and 1106 of the Chapter XI of the Indian Railway Establishment Manual, Volume I, Revised Edition, 1989 is enclosed.
The revised orders are effective from 13th October, 2006.
The other terms and conditions governing the grant of above advances shall remain unchanged.

The following amendments/ additions may be carried out in the Chapter XI of IREM- Volume I, (Revised Edition, 1989):
Grant of Advance for Purchase of Moped:
Para 1106(4): A new sub-para (4) may be inserted in Para 1106 as under:
(4) Notwithstanding the condition stated in Para 1104(5)(ii) of IREM an advance upto Rs.20000 or the anticipated price, whichever is less, may be sanctioned by the competent authority for purchase of Moped to Railway servants having basic pay plus dearness pay below Rs.6900 per month.
Grant of Advance for Purchase of Computer:
Para 1105(b): A new clause (b) may be inserted below the clause (a) of para 1105 as under:
(b) However, an advance not exceeding Rs.30000 or the anticipated price (excluding customs duty, if any) whichever is less, may be sanctioned to Railway servants for purchase of personal computer whose basic pay plus Dearness pay is not less than Rs.6900 and who are otherwise not eligible for grant of Computer Advance under existing provisions.
