RBE No. 173/2008: Sports – Open Advertisement Quota

Sub: Recruitment of sportspersons in Group-D against Sports Quota through Open Advertisement – clarification regarding.
Ref: Board’s letter No.E(Sports)/2007/Policy/3, dated 30.03.2007 (RBE No. 48/2007).
Please refer to Para 2 of Board’s letter mentioned above regarding Sports Quota for recruitment of sportspersons on Indian Railways.
Regarding reallocation of Group-D Open Advertisement Quota by General Manager from one Division/ Workshop/ Head Quarter to another Division/ Workshop/ Head Quarter; it is clarified that there is no such provision in the existing rules. Therefore, the Group–D Open Advertisement Quota allotted to a Division/ Workshop/ Head Quarter of a Zonal Railway cannot be transferred to another Division/ Workshop/ Head Quarter.
