RBE No.164/2005: GDCE – RRBs to conduct examination
No.E(RRB)/2001/25/31, dated 29.09.2005
Sub: Scheme of General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) – Conduct of examination through Railway Recruitment Boards.
Ref: Railway Board’s letter of even number 11.01.2002 (RBE No.05/2002) as modified by their letter of same number dated 08.08.2003.
1. Pursuant to demand raised by the staff side in the DC-JCM the question of allowing staff to send advance copy of application to RRBs in response to notification for GDCE, has been considered by the Board. It has been decided that in order to ensure that process of GDCE is not delayed on account of late receipt of applications through proper channel [RRB may entertain advance copy of application from serving staff in response to notifications for GDCE issued by RRBs. This will be subject to the condition that ‘No objection certificate(s)’ in favour of applicant(s) along with the application(s) after verifying the eligibility is issued by Zonal Railway concerned and sent to RRB concerned so as to reach them well before the date of which written test is held]. A copy of the signed ‘No Objection Certificate’ may be endorsed to the individual application so that he can produce the same as the time of written examination just in case the same is not received by RRB in time.
2. RRBs while sending call letters to the candidates based on advance copy of application for appearing in the written examination will also indicate the fact that they should ensure that application through proper channel must reach the RRB before the date of written examination. RRB will also clearly bring out in the call letter that in case wrong declaration/ particulars given by the candidate, he is liable to be taken up under D&AR also.
3. The above is in replacement of para 2(3) of Board’s letter dated 11.01.2002 (RBE No.05/2002) referred to above.
