RBE No. 163/1991: Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules

Sub: Railway Servants (Discipline & Appeal) Amendment Rules, 1991.

GSR ……… In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following Rules further to amend the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968, namely;

1. (1)   These rules may be called the Railway Servants (Discipline & Appeal) Amendment Rules, 1991.

(2)   They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2.     In the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968, for the exiting Sub-rule (11) of Rule 9, the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“(11)         The Railway Servant shall appear in person before the inquiring authority on such day and at such time within ten working days from the date of receipt by the enquiry authority of the order appointing him as such, as the inquiring authority may, by a notice in writing, specify in this behalf, or within such further time not exceeding ten days, as the inquiring authority may allow.”
