RBE No.152/2017: Classification of posts

Sub: Filling up non-gazetted posts on Railways – Classification of posts as Safety Category in Civil Engineering Department.
1.Pursuant to the acceptance of recommendations of High Power Committee constituted to review the list of safety category of posts on the Railways, matter has been examined. Accordingly, in modification to the list of posts of Civil Engineering Department, as contained in Board’s letter No.E(NG)I-75/PM1/44, dated 31.05.1982, following is the revised list of safety categories on Civil Engineering Department:
1. SSE/JEs (Track Machine) of open line and repair & maintenance depot / workshop.
2. SSE/JEs (P.Way)
3. SSE/JEs (Bridges)
4. SSE/JEs (Works)
5. Track maintainer Gr.I, II, III, IV (i.e. Mate, Keyman, Trackman, Gateman, Patrolman, Trolleyman)
6. Blacksmith, Welder
7. Technician (Track Machine) of open line repair & maintenance depot / workshop.
8. Bridge Technician (Sarang, Rivetter, Welder, Blacksmith, Grinder, Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Driller) of open line organization & Bridge Workshop.
9. Helper of Blacksmith / Welder
10. Helper (Bridge Technician) of open line organization & Bridge Workshop.
11. Helper (Track machine) of open line, and repair & maintenance depot / workshop.
2. All other terms and conditions regulating filling up of safety category posts continue to remain in force
3. These instructions will be effective from the date of issue.
