Sub: Inclusion of syllabus related with routine maintenance of Small Track Machines in Training Module No.PTMIN006 & PMTPR005 for Civil Engineering Permanent Way Staff.
Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has reviewed the syllabus related with routine maintenance of Small Track Machines in Training Module No.PTMIN006 & PMTPR005 for Civil Engineering Permanent Way Staff and decided to include the following modifications in the syllabus as given under:-

Different operations; through packing, slack picking, overhauling of line – mechanized maintenance of track and job of Gangmen in this, work involved in the maintenance of Points & Crossing, Curves, Level Crossings and Bridges, Creep and its effect, preventive measures like fixation of anchors, recoupment of missing fittings, renewal of ineffective fitting, pulling back of creep, attention to SEJ, Glued Joints, insulated block joints, Maintenance during foggy weather. Use of Small Track Machines, mobile maintenance units. |

Special attention to maintenance of platform lines and drainage, fixing of distance pieces on platform lines, corrosion of rails, fastening of concrete sleepers, jamming of ERCs & problem of groove formation, protection against corrosion-greasing of ERCs inserts and liners, painting of welds and rails, maintenance of turn in curves, infringements. | 7. The main thrust of the Module No.PTMIN006 and PMTPR005 is on maintenance of track for Trackman and Key man respectively.
In view of the above syllabus stands amended.
