RBE No. 127/1991: Rate of Stipend – Serving Railway Apprentices

Sub: Rate of stipend/ Pay and allowances admissible to serving railway servants during apprenticeship training.                    

1.     Further to the instructions contained in this Ministry’s letter No.PC-III/74/PS/Stipend, dated 06.04.1979 on the above mentioned subject, the matter relating to rate of stipend, etc. to serving Railway servants during Apprenticeship/ training has been reviewed in the context of a demand raised by the staff side. 

2.     It has now been decided that serving Railway servants taken as inter apprentices for whom the period of training is less than the period prescribed for direct recruits would also be governed by the provisions of Rule 1315 (FR 22-B) – R.II (1987 edition) provided they possess the same qualifications as prescribed for direct recruits. This is in partial modifications of the instructions contained in item (ii) of Board’s letter No.E(S)63/CPC/45, dated 29.03.1966, which was circulated along with the letter dated 06.04.1979, quoted above. 

3.     These instructions take effect from the date of issue. 

4.     This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
