RBE No. 12/2006: Quarters – Retention – MRVC staff

Sub: Retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting by Railway employees on deputation to Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC).
1. In terms of policy contained in letter No.E(G)2000 QR1-23, dated 01.06.2001 (RBE No.100/2001), Railway Officers/ staff on deputation to MRVC were permitted vide Board’s letter No.E(G)2001/RN5-4, dated 08.08.2001 (RBE No. 153/2001) to retain Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting for a period of five years from the date of incorporation of MRVC, i.e. 12.07.1999 to 11.07.2004. This permission was further extended for a period of one year upto 11.07.2005 in accordance with Board’s letter No.E(G)2003/RN5-7, dated 16.04.2004. MRVC have once again requested Railway Board for extending the period of retention of Railway accommodation beyond 11.07.2005.
2. Railway Board in their meeting held on 23.12.2005 have considered the request of MRVC. It has been decided to extend the period of retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of Railway employees on deputation to MRVC for a further period of one year only from 12.07.2005 to 11.07.2006.
3. The period of retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting in favour of Railway employees on deputation to MRVC may therefore be extended up to 11.07.2006, as a special case if so requested by the concerned Railway employees on payment by MRVC to the Railway an amount equivalent to the HRA admissible to the Railway employees on deputation to MRVC plus the flat rate of licence fee prescribed by the Railways from time to time in respect of the Railway accommodations. MRVC may, however, recover normal licence fee from Railway employees on deputation to MRVC availing this facility.
4. Railway Board have further decided that no further extension beyond 11.07.2006 for retention of Railway accommodation will be granted to deputationist Railway employees to MRVC.
5. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
