RBE No. 03/1993: Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules

Sub: Railway Servants (Discipline & Appeal) First Amendment Rules, 1993.
GSR …… In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby made the following Rules further to amend the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968, namely;
1. (1) These Rules may be called the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) First Amendment Rules, 1993.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In place of the existing item No.1 under the heading “Research, Designs and Standards Organization” in Schedule-I to the Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1968, the following shall be substituted:-

All classes of non-Gazetted Railway servants including Group ‘B’ (non-Gazetted staff) |
Joint Director or Additional Director or Director or Additional Director General or Director General |
All penalties in Rule 6 and suspension |
Next higher authority to whom the authority in Column (3) is immediately subordinate. |
3. In Column 3 under the heading ‘Railway Liaison Officer’ in Schedule-I, the words ‘Joint Secretary, Railway Board’ shall be substituted in place of the words ‘Railway Liaison Officer’.
