RBE 199/1992: Appointment on Compassionate Grounds – Change of category

Sub: Appointment on Compassionate grounds – Change of category.

1. Para XII(b) of the Master Circular No. 16 issued vide Board’s letter of even number dated 12.12.1990 on appointed on compassionate grounds may be amended as under:-

“XII(b) – Once an appointment on compassionate grounds of the wards/ widow, etc. has been made in a particular category/ grade, no change of category/ grade is subsequently permissible on the same compassionate grounds, subject, however, to the provisions in Para-X(c) above.”

2. Ministry of Railways desire to clarify that in-change of category/ grade, as per rules for Railway employees, would obviously apply to compassionate appointees toe.
