Sub: Implementation of Government’s decision on the recommendations of the Fifth Central Pay Commission -Revision of pension of pre-1996 pensioners/ family pensioners etc.
1. A copy of Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare’s O.M. No.45/86/97-P&PW(A) Part II, dated 27th Oct. 1997, together with its enclosures, is circulated for information and guidance. These instructions shall apply, mutatis mutandis to pre-01.01.1996 Railway pensioners governed by Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 1993 and Railway Services (Extraordinary Pension) Rules, 1993.
2. A copy of the O.M. referred to above has already been circulated to the Reserve Bank of India and all the nationalized banks as well as the Controllers of Accounts, Accountant Generals etc.
3. A concordance of various instructions and orders referred to in the enclosed O.M. with reference to corresponding Railway instructions is indicated below:-
