Para-Medical: RBE No.119/2005 – Filling up of Posts on Contract Basis

Sub: Filling up of posts in Para-medical categories in Group ‘C’ on contract basis.

1. In view of the shortage of Para-medical staff being faced by Zonal Railways, Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) have decided to permit filling up of posts in Para-medical categories in Group ‘C’ on contract basis, on following terms & conditions:

(i) These engagements should be done with the personal and prior approval of the General Manager subject to fulfillment of eligibility & other conditions governing such engagements;

(ii) Educational Qualifications and Age Limit of such contract engagements should be in accordance with those prescribed for direct recruitment;

(iii) These contract engagements should be made against clear vacancies for a maximum period of one year or up to 31.07.2006 or availability of a regularly selected candidate, whoever is the earliest.

(iv) Such engagements should be made by inviting applications and screening by a selection committee of Senior Scale/ JAG Officers.

(v) Representation of SC/ST and OBC categories as per vacancies reserved for them should be ensured as per the guidelines in force.

2. It should be full time contract and their remuneration should be on monthly basis as given hereunder:

3. This scheme is being launched on an experimental basis and will be valid till 31.07.2006.

4. The provisions for engaging retired staff and for engaging Substitutes in Para-medical categories stand withdrawn till further orders.

5. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board).
