Sub: Revision in the Grade pay (level) and designation of Group ‘B’ gazetted posts of SO (Hindi)/ Assistant Hindi Officer/ Liaison Officer in Official Language Directorate of Railway Board.
Attention is invited to Railway Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, notified vide Notification GSR 643(E), dated 04.09.2008 (RBE No.103/2008) and Board’s order No.PC-VI/2011/I/RSRP/2, dated 05.10.2011. The issue regarding revised Pay Scales of gazetted posts of Official Language (OL) Cadre of Railway Board at par with those existing in Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS). The matter has been examined in consultation with Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure) and it has been decided that pay structure of PB-3 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400 (Level-10) from the existing PB-2 with Grade Pay of Rs.4800 (Level-8) may be granted to the posts of Section Officer (Hindi)/ Assistant Hindi Officer/ Liaison Officer in the Official Language Directorate of Railway Board at par with Assistant Director (OL) in CSOLS prospectively, subject to the following condition:-
(i) The Recruitment rules of the posts of Section Officer (Hindi)/ Assistant Hindi Officer/ Liaison Officer in the Official Language Directorate of Railway Board will be amended to make it at par with that of Assistant Director (OL) in CSOLS.
(ii) These posts will be re-designated as Assistant Director (OL).
(iii) The functions of these posts is exactly similar to Assistant Director (OL) of CSOLS.
The matter regarding revision in the Recruitment Rules etc. of the posts designated as Section Officer (Hindi)/ Assistant Hindi Officer/ Liaison Officer will be processed by the relevant Directorate of Railway Board and all future recruitments & Promotions in the Grade will be made as per the revised rules only.
The Designation and Pay Band/ Grade Pay (level in Pay Matrix for the existing regular incumbents shall be revised as bas been approved by the Ministry of Finance as indicated above.
This issues in consultation with the Secretary’s branch and with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
