GDCE: RBE No.02/2022 – General Departmental Competitive Examination

Sub: General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) for filling up of 25% net direct recruitment quota vacancies in Group ‘C’ categories – Extension of currency up to 31.03.2024.
Since the introduction of the scheme of General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) vide Board’s letter No.E(NG)I-92/PM2/16, dated 20.08.1993 (RBE No.129/1993) for a period of one year, the currency of the same, is being extended from time to time, and the same was last extended up to 31.03.2020 vide this Ministry’s letter No.E(NG)I-2020/PM1/9, dated 06.07.2020 (RBE No.49/2020).
The matter regarding further extension of currency of the scheme has been considered by the Board. It has been decided that the currency of the GDCE scheme may be extended for a further period of two years i.e. upto 31.03.2024.
The instructions regarding the clarification/ modification in the GDCE scheme issued from time to time may also be kept in view while implementing the same.

Sir as of now the Group C to group B is conducted within the zone. If the question paper is set by Board and exam conducted in All India level , it is equivalent to Group A. So like like group A officers will they be given next promotion in maximum 3 years or retained for minium 8 years as usual. Where will b the posting for selected candidates anywhere in India or in their corresponding Zones??
