Sub: Payment of Dearness Allowance to Railway employees – revised rates effective from 01.07.2000.
1. Reference to this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 07.04.2000 [S. No.PC-V/264 (RBE No.68/2000)] on the subject mentioned above. The President is pleased to decide that the Dearness Allowance payable to Railway employees with effect from 1st July, 2000 shall stand modified as follows:-

2. The provisions contained in Paras 3 and 4 of this Ministry’s letter No.PC-V/97/I/7/14, dated 16.10.1997 [S. No.PC-V/3, (RBE No.139/1997)] shall continue to be applicable, while regulating Dearness Allowance under these orders.
3. The additional instalment of Dearness Allowance payable under these orders shall be paid in cash to all Railway employees.
4. The payment on account of Dearness Allowance involving fraction of 50 paise and above may be rounded off to the next higher rupee and the fractions of less than 50 paise may be ignored.
