Chief Loco Inspectors: Integrated Seniority for Promotion to Group ‘B’ Posts

Sub: Clarification regarding reckoning relative seniority of Chief Loco Inspectors in the integrated seniority list for Group ‘B’ promotion.

With reference to South Central Railway’s letter No.SCR/P-HQ/EL/Group B/AEE/2025, dated 25.08.2025 on the above mentioned subject, it is clarified that Loco Pilots in Level-6 are classified as Running Staff and are to be equated with Stationary Staff in Level-7 in terms of Board’s letter No.E(GP)2005/2/87, dated 18.08.2015 (RBE No. 92/2015). However, the post of Chief Loco Inspector (CLI) in Level-7 is a stationary post. As such, in terms of Board’s letter No.E(GP)2019/2/25, dated 27.12.2019 (RBE No.216/2019), the CLIs are to be placed above the Stationary Staff in Level-6 and their relative seniority is to be determined with reference to the length of their non-fortuitous service in Level-7 only.
