Overtime Allowance: RBE No.16/1987 – Employees in Administrative Offices

Sub: Overtime Allowance to the Railway Employees in Administrative Offices including those in Workshops and Factories.

Please refer to Board’s letter of even number dated 01.12.1986 (RBE No.238/1986) on the above subject. It is clarified that the provisions contained in para 4 of the letter for payment of Overtime Allowance on the basis of notional pay admissible to the concerned Railway employees in the pre-revised scales of pay/ pay slabs is not applicable to those Railway employees who are governed by statutory provisions like Hours of Employment regulations, Factory’s Act etc. as the Overtime Allowance in such cases is regulated by statutory provisions.
