Sub: Revision of Rates of Conveyance Allowance to Railway employees – Recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.
1. Consequent upon the decision taken by the Government on the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission relating to the grant of Conveyance Allowance and in partial modification of Board’s letter No.F(E)I/2000/AL-7/4, dated 31.05.2001 (RBE No. 103/2001), the President is pleased to revise the rates of Conveyance Allowance to Railway employees admissible under Rule 1606(4) of IREC Vol.II (2005 Edition), as under:-

2. The rates of this allowance will be increased by 25% whenever the Dearness Allowance payable on the revised pay scales goes up by 50%.
3. The other terms and conditions for the grant of this allowance will remain unchanged.
4. These orders will be effective from 1st September, 2008.
